Our 1st Anniversary

Trent and I celebrated our 1st Anniversary over the weekend, it was so great to get away and spend time alone with my Hubby. We went to Vegas and stayed in the Stratosphere for 3 nights in such a great room. Thursday night we walked the strip, which did not end well! Our hotel was so far away from everything. So with all that walking my foot started to hurt so bad I didn't want to put any weight on it. We still had the entire way back to our hotel. For the rest of the weekend I did'nt want to walk anywhere. But Trent and I still had fun!

Friday was our Anniversary, Trent had M&Ms made that said i love you forever and other cute words, and later that day we went a Firehouse Concert in St. George.
They are one of my favorite 80's bands, we play a couple of there songs at our Wedding Reception it was really fun to hear them play those songs live....

After the Firehouse concert we ate our cake topper, it was actually pretty good!!! I can't believe it had been a year.

Saturday of our weekend we just stayed at our hotel, because I didn't want to walk all around Vegas. We hung out up at the top of the Stratosphere and I rode the rides! Trent is scared of heights so I rode them by myself.

Trent and I got in engaged June 10th, I knew it was coming but Trent was still able to surprise me!
We went up to Battle Creek Canyon, to Battle Creak Falls and had a little Picnic just us two, it was really nice to sit and relax and talk. While we were sitting talking Trent asked if I wanted some Peanut M & Ms (my fav) I was like sure, he said there just the ones that were in my room, as I opened them not only were the peanut ones in there but there were pink and white ones that said I love you will you marry me, and then Trent started to take off his shirt and under it he had made a tee shirt that said I love you with all my heart, and on the back it said will you marry me. Trent got on one knee and asked me to marry him, with the ring in hand. He did a great job surprising me. I could ask for a better surprise.

I found this cool idea on a few friends blog. I love the meaning behind it. I hope some of you will join me in this. Here is the idea:

Can you identify a single word that sums up what you want for yourself in 2009?

Your word can be anything you want it to be - it does not have to be soulful, or clever, or original. It can be practical and tangible. Don't worry if someone else has chosen the same word as you - this is just for you. You don't have to be creative - just be true.

The idea behind the one little word concept is to give yourself something to focus on throughout the year. "A single word can be a powerful thing. It can be the ripple in the pond that changes everything. It can sharp and biting or rich and soft and slow."

It can be something tangible or intangible. It could be a thought or a feeling or an emotion. It can be singular or plural. The key is to find something that has personal meaning for you. This is not your mother's word or your spouse's word or your child's word - this is YOUR word.

One little word can have big meaning in your life if you allow yourself to be open to the possibilities. And here's one thing that is totally interesting: sometimes a word will pop into your brain and it will not make any sense to you right now. Give it some time. Let it percolate a bit. I have often found that our hearts speak to us in very unique ways. Maybe this is a word you need to hear but just aren't ready for it yet. Again, be open to the possibilities.

My word for 2009 is:
To embrace the things that I cannot control. I know that everything will happen as it is intended to at just the right time, at just the right place, with just the right people. I have faith that my life is in the hands of God and he knows what is in store for me. I really need to find patience with life. In more ways then one. Those of you that really know me know that sometimes I just cant wait. There is always so much that has to be done right now. Some times because of that I end up missing what is most important in life. I think if I become more patient it will help so much.

I would love to read everyone's words and the reasons for them. My day started with Whit and my Mom decorating my, note I hate when people to that but since it was already dirty I did'nt really mind!!!

Trent took me to breakfast at Dennys Whoo hoo!!
As we were leaving, I asked a random guy to take this picture so me and Trent could have a picture together.

Then we were off to our next stop the Mall, Trent had a gift for me there it was a build a bear outfit, My knight and shining armor, it is so cute. We went to the build a bear store and I picked a Monkey, and stuffed it and named it!!!
I guess we had time to spare before our next stop, so Trent spoiled me with some shopping!!!

He is so sweet!!!

After our day of shopping we went back to my parents to Party!!! LOL
I had a bunch of friends from work and there husbands, and my bestfriend Alyssa anh her hubby over for Pizza, and Huge cupcakes!!!
It was really fun, to have them all over!

I know it has been for ever since I have updated, life has been kind of crazy, so I thought I would do this year in review and maybe it will give an idea of what I have been up to!!!

Answering these questions each year is a great way to keep track of your life a year at a time. It's fun to sit down together and think about all we've experienced in the last year.

What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before? I moved out on my own for 8 months, then decided it would be best to move back home to save money.
Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? Nope, but this year I will keep my New Years Res.
Did anyone close to you give birth? A Bunch of girls from work their babies are so cute... Cant wait till Robyn has hers!!!
Did anyone close to you die? Yes. My sweet Grandpa Norman was diagnosed with a brain tumor in Feb, It is so hard to believe he is gone, he is greatly missed by all.
What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008? Money!!!!
What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? September 4th, 2008, the day my Grandfather passed away.
What was your biggest achievement of the year? Getting though this year!!!
What was your biggest failure? I can't think of anything, but there is I am sure, I am not perfect!
What was the best thing you bought? My xterra I love it, but when the gas was so high I hated it!!!
